We have taken Rosalyn out with the bike a few times so she can have a nice run. She is so very good. Trots along great, and does not get distracted with barking dogs or noises. She did get excited today when she saw kids along the way, we think she wants to play with them. After her bike ride she is game for a run around the yard playing with the rest of the pack.
We have been feeding her in her crate, then leaving her there for 1/2 hour afterwards. She is getting very good at going right in and not making any noises once her meal is done. After wards we will take her out to the yard to do her business. I will also crate her when I leave the house, over night and when she gets her chewie. I am doing this to help her feel secure when she is on her own.
She is great girl, one of those fosters that is very tempting to keep :) but how can we help more if we adopted all the special ones.
Rosalyn
We picked up this scared little girl at the pound. Spent an hour with her in a small meeting room letting her get used to our smell

Settling in nicely
Rosalyn has been busy in the last week :)
We took Rosalyn to have her hair groomed, but she was pretty full of mats so she ended up with a great hair cut. We think it is like getting two dogs in one, a winter and summer look. I can not decided on my favorite look can you? The groomer said that she is a perfect girl, not a mean bone in her body.
She did great at the vets as well, no growling when he drew blood, gave her needles or took her temp. The vet decided Rosalyn is at least 2 years old, is healthy but at 23 lbs she could loose a bit.
She also vent for a visit to the senior home, enjoyed the elevator ride, and it just took a couple of minutes for her to go up to my Dad in the wheelchair.
Rosalyn is very shy, it takes her awhile to get comfortable with new people, but the wait sure is worth it. She is a great dog, but does need leash, recall and the regular puppy training.

Day 4
Rosalyn
Rosalyn has shown some separation anxiety, wanting to be with her people at all times. I have begun going into a room and having her stay out, she does a bit of whimpering, then sits and waits.
Today she was left home with the rest of the animals, in the laundry room. She barked for maybe 4 minuted them quieted down.
Had a long walk this evening, meeting a few dogs that she found pretty interesting. We also meet up with a few of our neighbors, Rosalyn is still not interested in meeting these strangers, but almost went up to one gentleman.
Rosalyn appears to be completely house trained, how clever is she :) She has picked up shoes but is easy redirected with a nyla bone .
Day 3
Running around the back yard with our dog did not manage to tire out our little foster so we decided to take her for a bike ride. She loved it! We rode for 15 minutes then introduced her to the lake. She was very interested in all the smells and even walked into the water a few times.
She is such fun to watch playing with our dog. She will lay herself down flat on the ground, as if to say she is tuckered out when our guy moves she starts to run around the yard. Such a little tease. She also seems to be aware of the dogs limitations. With our senior dog she walks gently beside her, does a sniff or two. Our other dog is smaller than her she goes over him, wiggles her behind and gives him space so he is not hurt.
Had some company today and she decided to watch them from my side, would not let them touch her. She did a soft grown and backed off just to let them know not to get too close.

Day two
After only a few hours Rosalyn is right at home and decided were are great people. She is friendly with our two dogs and curious about the cat. What a clever girl, she has mastered the stairs after only a few tries. Rosalyn, enjoyed a walk around the neighborhood, no tugging on the leash, ignored the barking dogs. Slept very well in the crate (just a couple of protest barks) and waited patiently till we let her out in the morning.
This sweet girl has shown no aggression during meals, will allow me to put my hand in her dish, take it away and lets the other dogs get right near her bowl.
